The service and location are amazing. Alexis, Christian, Daniel, Sandra and Emma made our stay with their great customer service. The hotel is undergoing renovations and will be great once completed but the location makes up for it. Our room was beautiful and the view was fantastic, however, the air conditioner didn't work and there were issues with the hot water. Food is delicious at all the restaurants but with limited options during the day, the snack bar was short on food almost every day. Seating is limited at the sushi bar but the view and food are awesome. There is very limited shade and you are on the roof so sun and heat are in abundance. With access to the Hacienda, which is adults only, your food and swimming options are extended. Antonio and Manuel make sure you are well hydrated while swimming in the luxurious pools. Just a 10 min walk on the beach will take you to the marina and a 15 min taxi to the Malecon, this is a kid friendly, budget friendly hotel. Sadly there was very few entertainment events in the evening, but lots for kids during the day.

We stayed at the Krystal Grand from Feb 10 to 17, 2026 Rooms: Rooms are good and well maintained. We were on the 8th floor. They stop your mini fridge with water and drinks daily. The elevators can be a bit slow at times but the doors close on you quick so be aware especially if you have kids. Store in the hotels: Sells a variety of pool floats, toys etc and some medications as well as sunblock. $20 us currency for a bottle of sunblock. Tips: Tips are always welcome and most tip in US dollars or Pesos. If you have large bills the front desk will exchange them for you. OWest poke bowl restaurant for adults only. Only 6 tables here and food is served from 1.15pm so u must be here by 1 to get seating. The view is beautiful and the drinks are the best at this bar. We enjoyed the prawn poke bowl the best. This restaurant also has an infinity pool Maintenance and service: one thing we appreciated about this place was the prompt service. When the safe/shower water pressure/bed situation wasn't up to par they worked on it very quickly. We had booked a room with double beds but ended up with a king which didn't work for 4 of us so they brought up an extra twin bed for us. The rooms are big enough to accommodate this. Construction: construction is taking place and will take place for another year or so and if you have a balcony it will probably face the construction site so just be aware. Although it is noisy at times it never bothered us. Pools: water temperature in the pool was great especially the one closer to the beach - nice and warm. If you have experienced the Krystal grand in Nuevo Vallarta these pools are a bit smaller. Lots of activities at the pool area daily where you can win bottles of tequila and wine etc. La Catrina: excellent Mexican food. You have to make a reservation online starting at 10am the day of the booking. You can also make a reservation at guest services however the lineups are long. Shows: Shows are great especially the water/circus show at the pool The mexican show was fantastic and the Michael Jackson show so entertaining. We have stayed at 2 Krystal grand hotels now and this one definitely has the better entertainment. Entertainers are very talented. The kids loved them too. Special thanks to Sandra Ramirez from Bonita cafe; Ricardo from the Mexican and Seafood restaurant, the entertainment director sorry can't remember his name, Isaac from the restaurants, Fransisco from the main buffet, Maria from the Mexican restaurant and many more! Great service Only recommendation since we have stayed at other Krystal grand hotels 1. The snack bar should have fish tacos - didn't have them here. 2. Didn't find any guacamole this entire trip :( 3. Entertainment at this Krystal was fantastic! 4. Rooms on the 8th floor are the best! 5. Fire alarm went off 3 nights and that was a pain.

Our large group of friends spent a week at this resort and it was wonderful. We stayed in the rear hotel which at that time was the Hacienda. Some of our friends stayed in the hotel that was closer to the beach and they also said it was wonderful there as well. Whichever hotel you stayed at you were allowed to spend time at either pool location or restaurants. The pools at both hotels were excellent and all the staff and the service at the resort was really very good. There were several restaurants to choose from as well as the buffet, and we had no issues at any of the restaurants at the resort. There are also numerous bars that you could spend time at at this resort. Our most popular time of the day was enjoying the rooftop pool watching the sunset and having some sushi and drinks in the later afternoon. A wonderful spot with a wonderful bar and great food. The beaches are really nice to walk in this area. And it’s only a short trip into Puerto Vallarta, where you can walk along the Malecon and explore the many shops and restaurants and bars in that area. We all truly enjoyed our stay in PV and we would recommend this hotel Paul and Andrea Canada

We’ve just returned from our 15th stay at the Krystal Hacienda Grand Puerto Vallarta (February 2026), and once again, the service made our trip unforgettable. While the resort could use some updates and the food isn’t the main draw, the staff are the reason we keep coming back. Huge thanks to Miguel, Manuel, and Marissa for making every breakfast and lunch feel like a warm welcome. Carlos, Cesar and Victor kept the poolside fun and friendly with great bar service. At the front desk, Melanie and Lucy (Front Desk Manager) were incredibly helpful and always greeted us with a smile. We also want to recognize Jonathan at the rooftop sushi bar, who is consistently warm, welcoming, and such a pleasure to see each visit. His kindness adds so much to the experience. A very special mention goes to Elizabeth, who works with the vacation company. She has become a true friend over the years — her hugs when we arrive feel like being welcomed by family. Our room was spotless every day, with fresh towels and a restocked mini fridge. Outside the resort, Puerto Vallarta continues to be one of our favorite destinations: amazing restaurants, beautiful cobblestone streets, and the friendliest people. Even our taxi drivers were a blast — especially Alex, who drove our group of 10 and put up with all our singing and shenanigans. We’ve met so many wonderful people in PV over the years, and some have even become part of our travel group. That’s the magic of this place. Thank you, Hacienda team. We can’t wait to be back in April.

Food, pool & ocean is wonderful. After 10 hours of travel, after we checked in they sent us straight to a sales guy. I couldn't stop laughing cuz I was so hungry & they wouldn't let us leave. After 10 minutes we scurried away.

We were at the resort for a week, over Christmas and were pleased with the way the resort celebrated the holiday particularly the Christmas Eve dinner, the turkey was amazing! Well done, chefs. The resort itself is older and shows signs of its age however, we could see that they are actively working on updates throughout the resort. The rooms were a little dated but clean, special shout out to our lovely housekeeper, Lourdes. She was very friendly and did a lovely job in cleaning our rooms. I also found the bed to be quite comfortable. The food at the buffet was good, especially breakfast, Fernando did an amazing job with the omelettes and “special” egg orders. We also enjoyed the food and spectacular service at all three al a crate restaurants. The real highlight of this resort were the staff and service they provided. In addition to the above mentioned, Some true stand outs for us were Omar, Oscar, Alexis, Alejandro, and Emma in the restaurants/ buffet and Christian at the poolside. I wish I had gotten the name of the lovely young lady working at the Bonita, she remembered my coffee order after 2 days and was always so pleasant. Daniel kept the poolside crowd happy and involved in the activities the resort hosted. He often stopped in to check on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Again, I wish I knew all of their names but every staff member that we had interaction with, was pleasant and eager to assist. I look forward to returning to the resort to try the Hacienda side, in the near future.

Ten Day stay. The room available at check-in was not the one reserved and paid for because when we arrived it was not available for the first 4 nights of the stay. Hotel was able to rectify by providing various comps and was able to move to the expected room for the last five nights of the stay. Overall the experience was positive and would recommend the hotel. The Hacienda side was much quieter, the buffet selection and food was better than the Krystal Grande and 2 extra a la carte restaurants were very good. Krystal Grande side was family friendly where as Hacienda was much appreciated adults only. Huge shoutout to the following shining stars who went out of their way to make the stay extra special : Willin & Karen at O’West Poke & Bar, Maribel at the La Bonita Cafe & Deli, Marco at the Lobby Bar, and The Concierge Ulyssus was very helpful during the stay.

Great place to stay, close to the airport, about 4km. The staff are great, very helpful. The room we stay in was spacious and well kept, we were in the Hacienda side with a pool room view. The pools were warm, not cold. We were here for 14 days.
